Verify screenshot redaction in the saved image

A visual cover is not redaction. Create a new output with opaque pixels in the marked region, then reopen it and check the saved result while keeping the source separate.

Separate a cover from saved pixels

An overlay is only a visual layer and may be removed or revealed. Share a new output where the marked region is replaced with opaque pixels.

Check in this order

Do not share a cover, annotation or layer by itself.
Keep the source and create a new flattened output.
Reopen the saved output and check opaque pixels at the marked coordinates.
Review other layers, off-screen areas and nearby personal data.
Check the destination renderer and stop on unknowns.
